Ed Youngblood has done it again.  You really have to checkout this special tribute to Honda that he has put together on his Motohistory website:

How many of you owned a Honda before owning a Penton?  My first bike was a 1971 CL350 Honda.  September of that year, my wife and I bought a CMF 125 Six Day as a trail bike for her to ride.  Little did we know that this bike could out perform my Honda off rode.  I enjoyed riding her bike so much that in the spring of 1972 I sold my Honda to my Dad and bought my own Six Day.

Bob,

You got rid of a Mag Husky to get the Hiro?  Man, that is a double bummer.

My first bike after a mini-bike was a CT70 Honda.  My first attempt at 100cc Class was on a SL90 with a megaphone.  It sucked and I went with a string of Yamahas before working at a shop and getting a deal on a Penton.

Larry, I don't know how to explain it, but I could not ride that 250 Husky. Good power, and quite a jump up from the Berkshire. It was just hard to keep it going straight. The big bummer was the 77 Husky 125 - all tricked out and still the slowest 125 I could have chosen that year. Such a let-down, it made me quit racing for a number of years.

Bob,

It could always be worse.  I once got paid one race to race a Carabella.[xx(] And of course there was the AMP Mongoose bicycle that broke in half doing 50mph at The Worlds in Vail.[:0]  The bad ones make us appreciate the good ones.
