i totally agree especially when you have bikes like mk 8 pursangs 74 huskys etc i guess some clubs will allow them  as you say if you run shocks upright with the correct amount of travel

Penton Talk / ENGINE REBUILD
September 30, 2006, 03:27:32 PM
Hi
Just getting around to rebuilding my 74 250 ktm engine at last, and was wondering if someone could put my mind at rest before i have my cylinder resleeved,it origanaly came with a 2r cylinder which is damaged and i'm going to put a 5r cylinder on there, now i know there is quite a difference in the ports, but i was wondering if running with standard 74 exhaust system it will run cleanly without any hidden problems. Probably worrying about nothing but you now how it is [8)].

 Many thanks Martyn  UK

February 13, 2006, 05:17:27 PM
Hi Guys
I have 2 cylinders which are slightly different from each other, one is marked ez71/2r and the other is ez71/5r could anybody tell me does the last number mean the year ( or is that being to simplistic ) and which would be the better one to put on a 74 mx.
 Many thanks

Hi I've just bought my first ktm after years of looking, but unfortunatly the motor has been abused resulting in broken conrod and casings, could anybody tell me which years conrods will fit these engines.( or other make rods that will interchange ) Any information would be gratefully received,as i feel i am about to embark on a steep learning curve:).
