Penton Talk / Barber Vintage Festival
September 03, 2007, 10:55:04 AM

Hey guys, I live about 60 miles from Barbers and plan on bringing
my 1975 GS 125 that I bought there last year. Yes the track last
year was pretty much flat and not much to it. I'm hoping that they
make it better this year. I plan on being there all 3 days and
 will help with the booth.

Penton Talk / Mid Ohio-Thanks!
July 30, 2007, 08:54:50 PM

It was my first time at Mid-Ohio, it was great. I hope
that Barbers can some day be half as good. John Penton
was great. We kept buying tee shirts, cap's and books and
he signed every one of them. He wanted to know everything
about me and my bike. Thanks Poggers.

Penton Talk / Neck Surgery
April 29, 2007, 10:42:55 AM

I had this surgery about 14 years ago. My right arm was parallized
and the Doctor wasn't sure if I would get the use of it again.Back
then Doctor Zigar was considered the best in the southeast at this
particular surgary. He came into the recovery after the surgery to
see if I could move my arm. I gave it all I had but it wouldn't
move. He said that sometimes it takes awhile to come back and to do
alot of therapy. After a week of therapy I started to get a little
bit of feeling to return and about a month later it was back to about 90%. About 4 years ago I got the urge to ride dirt bikes again
but was  affraid the pounding might parralize me for good. I bought
a Suzuki DRZ 400 and have trail ridden it mostly keeping the tires
no more than 3 feet off the ground. When I was young I raced a 250
Elsinor and a 400 Husky in the expert classes. Now that I'm 52 the
the thought of permanent damage makes me conservative. How I wish
that I could join ARHMA to race again, but it will never happen as
just stepping off a high step will still make my hands tingle and
go numb. Dwight, your probably not as bad of condition as I am,
please don't let this stop what you love to do. Good luck with the
surgery and keep up the therapy.

Mine is a 125 but I would take a 175 and buy cylinder and head
 to fit.

Wanted / For Sale / KTM Engine Case's
February 03, 2007, 09:40:46 PM

Looking for 125 or 175 engine case's or does someone
know where mine can be repaired. The magnesium around
the crankcase is corroded pretty bad.

Penton Talk / Tank Felt
January 15, 2007, 12:14:29 AM

Hi guys, I'm asking if someone will help with a small problem.
 I'm trying to restore a 1976 125 GS6 that was almost a basket case.
It's my first Penton and I see in my parts book that a piece of
felt goes under the gas tank but the location is not clear. Does it
go toward the front, middle or back? My bike has the breather frame
and the tank is the enduro style. If anyone can help it would be
 appreciated very much.

  Thanks: James Pearson #870

Penton Talk / Engine swap
November 16, 2006, 07:45:14 PM

Hey i'm a new guy with a question. Just bought a basket case
1976 125 GS at the Barbers vintage race and swap meet.I'm
restoring it and was wondering if i could find a 175 top end and
would it fit my 125 case's? Mine is the KTM motor and not the Sach's.
If anyone knows if this was possible I would appreciate the information.
             Thanks James
