i have been offered @ $2000.00 for both bikes and boxes of misc parts such as cables, engine cases, side pipes and even two old metal tool boxes to mount on older bikes. so far the inerested party hasn't come up with the cash so i would consider other options at this time. Pitboss

I want to thank all of you who responded with e-mails to my questions on the value of the two bikes that i have to sell soon.
I will probably scrap out the Penton for individual parts sales, but would consider selling both bikes together for a reasonable price.
I will also be selling some other misc parts that came with the bikes such as cables, engine cases, gas tanks and pipes. I also have some tire rims but don't know what bike they go to.
I will being placing a for sale ad on this website as soon as i take an inventory of all the parts i have. I will also try e-bay as many of you suggested. Thanks from Pitboss:)

The reason I am trying to get the value for the two bikes is due to finical issues.
I will need to sell the bikes and I just wanted to know where to start on pricing them.
I will also be selling a few boxes of parts such as cables and engine cases.

Hi Nelson - Thank you very much for your earlier sugguestion. I went onto the DKW website and found a pic showing a 72' DKW enduro and guess what! It is an almost exacte duplicate of my Blue/chrome tanked bike. Now I am real exicted about restoring both bikes. With the help of all the members on this site I now know I have a 72/73' 100cc/5a Penton and a @72' 125cc/5a DKW/Sach.
I am still working on getting pic loaded on for you guys. As for the spare tank, let me look at it better, and I will forward you the condition of it is in shorly.

Thanks to all,

If the gold tank in your box of spare parts is in good condition and you are interested in selling it, I am interested in buying. If you are able to send pictures via email, you can contact me at [email protected]. Thanks.

If the silver on the red, blue, and gold tank color is actually chrome, and the "funny" front end is an earles leading link, it probably is a DKW or Sachs - or a mixture. My DKW serial number starts with 428------.

Thanks for the update. Here goes and I told you the serial number was strange. The serial number located on the steering column that I and the Washington State Police have agreed on is, 427003525. I am working on getting pics scan in but I have a really old PC and equipment and have to seek someone else to input the pics for me.
Please hang in there with me because I really am excited about this!!!!![8D][8D]

Ok, I have found the serial number on the Red tanked bike and it reads 21260198.The bike has been register before as a 74'in California back in 1976. I am still working on the Blue/Silver tanked bike because the numbers doesn't look like any of the exsamples listed on this site for id it.

Thank you all for your great information. I will check out all the photo gallerys to see if I can spot a bike that looks close to the Blue and silver tanked bike. there is also a different looking front end on the bike, some sort of suppor, that i have never seen on a bike before.
Also, I received more goodies when i purchased the two bikes. I received two complete full motors, size unknown, and boxes and boxes of cable and parts still in their bags with penton on the paper. i also have a steel tank, gold and silver in color, and a muffler or two. Well my wife is yelling that dinners ready so I will check back later and see what any on you can tell me.

Wanted / For Sale / Penton and Sachs bikes for sale
August 29, 2008, 02:53:56 PM
I have two bikes I want to sell. I would prefer to keep them whole at this time. The first bike is a 72' Penton Berkshire 100cc. The bike has been modified some; the entire front end is from a Japanese bike, the rear suspension (frame and swingarm rewelded and changed) otherwise this bike is in decent shape.

The other bike is a 71' Sachs with a 125cc engine. This bike is mostly original, has plastic rear fender instead of metal, but otherwise the bike is also in decent shape.

I will also add with the sell of both bikes; 3 boxes of misc Penton and Sachs engine, frame and ignition parts. I will add to the lot some manuals that came with the bikes.

I am asking $600.00 for the Penton and $ 900.00 for the Sachs or if you want to buy both $1300.00. I have pictures available to E-mail to you for both bikes but not the misc parts.

If there is no interested parties for these bikes I will go to e-bay and/or Craigs list and sell them as "parted out".

I need a fair market value for the following two project bikes that i have. the first bike is titled as a 74' Penton Berkshire 100cc (but the sn number on the bike start with a 72xxxxxx) and the second bike is a 70' Sachs. both bikes have are in fairly good shape for their ages and both were stored properly.
i can e-mail pictures of both bikes if that would help in determining their value.
