Still looking for a motor if anyone knows to one....

That would be ideal but looking at $1000+ to ship to UK!

Well im running 13/52, the gearing seems alright in the woods, its slow enough in 1st and i regually get it into 6th up the tracks...

Im quite happy to put a mikuni or lectron on, i know there is a bit of work involved....

Just out of curiosity, what are the 400 motors like in comparison, when considering torque and bottom end performance?

I unfortunatly tried cutting and welding it. One half is buried somewhere on the 3rd bend of last weeks meeting, wasnt strong enough!

I put a lever on off my 81 GS and it sort-of-fits. But isn't great. Surely someone must be remaking them....

Im running a 270 main jet, might try one size up. I couldnt find the exact jetting for the carb anywhere but it doesnt seem miles away. (still using 54 bing) I set the timing at 2.0mm BTDC. I use 99 RON fuel.

Yes, ive now managed to fit them, i had to dent (my newly powder coated!) frame in underneath the top mounts about 0.25".

The 78/79 bikes do seem very limited in terms of shock choice, its also difficult to find shocks 370mm in length, well here in the UK anyway.

Ah that makes me feel a bit better after i took the lump hammer to the frame!

I had 350mm shocks on and they looked far too short, a UK site lists 395mm shock length?

*UPDATE*

Stripped the carb, give it a good clean, the floats aren't sticking, nor do they appear to high, however, the slide has a large amount of wear in one area.

I have ordered a new slide off andre (ktm klassiker), for only 36 euros! I contacted the Bing Agency, they wanted $140 JUST for a slide! $460 for a carb :|

Thanks for your input guys, il take the carb off after work this afternoon, will post some pictures to see what you think. Il also post some of the bike, as i havent uploaded ay yet!
