Hey Texas- hope you're feeling better. With winter on the way and a "forced" vacation looming,I'm sure I'll be needing some guidance. I also think I need a few wardrobe tips, cuz I'm not looking as sharp as I could. I wonder how those shorts would look with long underwear!

Penton Talk / exhaust port
March 12, 2009, 12:14:22 AM
I knew that I'd seen those charts before. I'll print them out and have a look at the port locations. It might just be that someone hogged out the spigot. If things are totally out of whack I'll post a few pics.
thanks again- rob

Dang, Brian-- you stole my best kept secret. Of course I still use the the super super secret ax handle and ground out "close nipple" to pull my cz clutch springs. Shoot- now that one's out too.

Thanks for all the info guys. I think I'll pack it off to Stahl's and have him eyeball it(if its evil, I may be the speedy sleeve tester for pog)- I need to have him take care of some husky biz as well.

Penton Talk / need a little help on REH forks
February 26, 2008, 09:14:57 PM
Thanks Kip -I'll shoot Matt an e-mail tonight on seals. I think I might just have to use a little "persuasion" in separating the parts (i was a little worried that the steel inserts might be threaded in). This is a warm up for the mighty 68 berky resto. I'm sure the sheriff is thinking "you haven't gotten to that yet"
thanks- rob

Yes, it helps-I've always had good luck with oem honda seals, but might try a pair on the next set of forks that I do.

You guys are much more on the ball than I am-I swung by the Enfield shop yesterday and they were closed (open mon-fri only)-I think I'll just order a set. I'll talk to a friend of mine who does custom bikes and find out where he gets his fenders beaded and what the cost is.
Thanks-rob

Hey Bob-I'll scope out sport wheels as sooon as the weather breaks.
They've got some neat stuff if you know what you're looking for-otherwise it's a little overwhelming. I loaded up on husky stuff last year and will be negotiating some tyran/wassell stuff this spring.I bought my 72 berkie and my tyran at auction there a few years ago for a song. I'll find out if there's an auction this year.

Rob & Co.
If you got the fenders from Faribault,MN.,I can run over, take a look-see and maybe take some pics, as it's only 20 miles away. If the interest is there in Pentonia, I may talk to him about buying a few sets if we can get good pricing. Probably won't make it down this weekend (blizzard clean-up at the farm), but will be down there next weekend "wal-marting" with the kids.

Dave, I measured the stinger on my berkshire (ser # v790)--
length --approx 7-1/2"
od of pipe --approx 1-1/8"
I also would think the brace is to prevent kinking-my stinger has about a 3/4" bend in it from being dropped.

Dave--that is too cool.. the first odd thing i saw is the backwards and oversize air box -my aluminum airbox on the berkie has the bolt on the other side and a plug on the pipe side
