February 15, 2009, 08:39:37 PM
Kip,

I am not using a spring tensioner, I am using the rubber block.

see link to to Al B.'s website concerning the tensioner.

http://www.pentonpartsusa.com/3b%207%20ktm%20chain%20guard.htm

Just to confuse the matter more here is a link to some one selling a sproket for a carl crank chain tensioner that is spring loaded, but it is for a Husqvarna

Penton Talk / Interesting & unusual story
May 18, 2008, 12:06:19 PM
Hello Rob,

I found that website a while ago and was curious too. Ron Scheinders in the story I belive is actually the fellow who authored every favorite book.

ISDT '73: the Olympics of motorcycling;: The official pictorial record of the 48th International Six Days Trial, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA (Unknown Binding)
by Ron Schneiders (Author)

Second the web site is a rouse (sp). Based on the web site "whois" the owner is Cheryl Schinder. I do not know what her relationship is to Ropn in the photo; daughter, wife  or sister.

Chris,

Have you tried Speed and Sport in California?  I purchased some generic 35mm Ceriani forks covers with the loop for the brake cables from Matt.

Penton Talk / Marzocchi Shock Seals & Rebuild
January 15, 2005, 06:18:17 PM
For the Marzocchi Shock seals, my seals are for the 10 mm shaft.  I was able to get a similar replacement seal from the company Metric Seals, Inc. in Westfield,IN. The original seals on my shocks were the 10-22-7/7.5 BABSL, Metric Seals had a replacement size in the size of 10-22-6/6.5 BABSL. So far the seals are not weeping, so maybe a millmeter less in height will be okay.

Here is a link to there web page for the BABSL type seals

Penton Talk / 35mm Ceriani Fork Question
December 28, 2004, 12:42:57 AM
Chris,

Have you tighten down the top ball bearing race holder, beacuse if it is not properly adjusted, this will limit how far down you can turn down the top stem nut.  I know because it took me 1 hour to figure out why the top nut was tight, but the steering stem was still loose.

Penton Talk / "Spray Bomb"
December 05, 2004, 08:53:31 AM
Lew,

I was able to purchase the the "short cuts" paint from the local ACE Hardware store.  The store had to order the paint.  If you want I can get you the Ace stock numbers to order.  The only other issue was I had to order by the case (a case is six cans, each can holds like 5 oz.)

I found this link on a Ducati site, theses instructions are for rebuilding Strada Shocks.  The instruction were very similar to the rebuild instructions for the Marzocchi off road shocks.  I believe Strada Shocks are road shocks, the red shocks you see on ebay.
