Speedy,

According to the production year data, under 1972 heading

"(known as 6B) came with Motoplat ignition and 6 speed gear box - both
came with cast aluminum alloy cylinder, sunburst head, and 27.5mm Bing carburetor"

Thank you very much.My guess was 29 mm.

Roll Call:

Brian, Dale, Lew sounds like you're all going to be there.

Any other POG members going?

I'm all in. I'll be on a 82 KTM 250 GS(WR)for XC, and probably heading back home early Sunday morning.  Was hoping to have a 68 Maico 360 MC ready for vintage MX this year, but alas I still have a bit of ways to go with the restoration.

I will be there racing a 125 GS Zuendapp from 1972-3 in the HS and will see about the MX when I come there.Lol

I think Bob's right; it's jetting. Today's oils burn pretty clean but I haven't done 32:1 since the early 80's.  Shoot I'm currently running 40:1 (Maxima 927) and that is considered rich by today's standards.  I'm about to move into the 50:1 arena.

I have used OPTI in 1962 at the ISDT with a mix of 50-1
In 1970 OPTI came to Canada and since then I ( we ) use it mixed 100-1. Yes times have changed.Oil and materials are so much better.
I use SHELL Super, the only company in Canada who does not have methanol in his high test gas.

In any case, proper carb adjustmend is a must.( easy with a Lectron) Lolol

Thank god I'm single or else I wouldn't be getting it.

Here's an idea. I remember an article in a dirtbike magazine that a guy got a sizeable year end bonus check from the company he worked for. He wanted a new KTM dirtbike but wifey said no, but she didn't know how much extra he had got on that check.. He went outta state a good distance, bought the bike, mailed himself a "contest winner"'s statement on the dealers letterhead and went & picked himself up  a new bike.

JP probably did pretty well on the braking test if that is a disc brake up front.

Roumors saying I pushed John into a ditch are not trough.Proof:John had # 126 and I had # 180.If I had being close to John....He would have being in a lot of trouble.
Fact was that everybody who saw John riding a 250 BMW Streetbike with knobbies felt very sorry for John and where wondering how many kilometers he may manage on the first day before the bike would kill him.;););)

Yes,it looks as if my nefyou comes again to us in vacation, and he would love to go to Ormstown again. But then again,on the same weekend just 3/4 of an hour from my place is a National HS with a Vintage Class attached.
So, I am not 100% sure what to do.This National is in our skihills and that could be a great up and down challenge.:D:D:D

Will see.Still some time to think about it.
