Wanted / For Sale / Six Days for sale

Hey Larry, I need an exhaust manifold for a Jackpiner 72/73 black 7 fin cylinder. I'm not sure if the later ones will work or not. I did a search on this site and it seems that there are some differences in the pipes from year to year? Did you get the PVL done yet?

If you really need to see his items. Search, steel braided brake lines wezmoto. He has 33 item currently listed. He doesn't make these lines and just middlemans them. I found this out after the fact. They are made by HEL in England. That was on the box in the second set he shipped out. Not sure why you would want to see his items. I told you to stay away from this guy?

Bob don't tell me you sold your 75 frame to the guy in SF looking for a 75? I emailed about that frame some time ago and never got a response. Oh well just one more project I don't have to finish. I would like to take some measurments off one of those frames so I can make one out of a 74. Duplicating the swingarm is mostly what I'm needing to do. The frame and shock mounts are the easy part.

Cheng Shen tires are good for garage queen bikes and museum pieces. I don't see anyone racing on those tires. When we grew up in the 70's we called them chicken **** or chunk of ****. Hahaha... They chuncked so fast that you had to throw them away after one day. They could have changed since then but look at where they're made and then decide if you still would buy them. The bridgestone M404 is what I'm running. IRC has the Volcanduro in 100/100X18 but I haven't tried it yet. 100/100 is basicly a 4 inch tire with the knobs measuring closer to 4.75 in. More tire than a Penton 125 should have but what choice do you have. I tried the little Maxxis once. I damaged it trying to get it on and then pinch flatted it. I weigh 170 pounds without gear so even if I could get a 3.50 tire I would be to heavy for it. The 400X18 of old sure seemed smaller than the new 100/100X18.

Thanks Dwight for the imput on the Pirelli MT16 tire. I've been thinking about trying a rear on my KDX 220 but don't usually run a 110/100x18. It seems now that the modern four stroke is the norm tire manufactures have gone away from the smaller 100/100x18. I can't find them anywhere regardless of tire brand. Anyone know why the VMX article leeds you to believe that Pirelli is making a 400x18 and nobody in the states is selling them. I wouldn't think about buying from Australia, the U.S. dollar is so week that after converting you would pay 60 USD to ship them here. I shipped a Koni shock over to Ikon and the return shipping was 60 dollars. I only paid 30 to get it over there. What's a guy to do?

Can the earlier model be modified to work on a high breather by removing the fiberglass lip around the top? Also what was used to seal the space between the frame and airbox on the high breather?

I want one of each. JP want to go ride? I'm still not working, call me if you want to go. There's no snow in the mountains yet. Could still be good at some of the higher riding areas.

Wanted / For Sale / Sachs cases
October 29, 2011, 05:54:43 PM
I thought you could use either transmission in either large crank or small crank case. Aren't the mainshaft and layshaft the same length for five and six speed systems? Sachs just made the gears thinner, and changed the number of slots in the mainshaft for engagement of the selector key for the six speed. I would assume that the "stuffed cases" only will take the small crank and that you can put either trans in those cases. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.

I work on small engines from time to time and have seen strange things that I believe are related to E10 fuels. Instead of debating about the effects of CORN fuel! I will give you the website that tells you what stations in what states sell E0 or non oxygenated fuel. pure-gas.org If you want to buy a new leaf blower every few years keep using the CORN!

Donny, My buddy had that same 442. We ran it into a telephone pole with the cops in hot pusuit. That was the end of that car and my face was a mess for years, I hit the windshield from the back seat. When the cops finally caught up they drew there guns on us. As I sat in the middle of the street spitiing out parts of my teeth and blood running 50 yards down the hill my response when they told me to lie down on the ground was get me a F%&*ing ambulance. You could hardly tell if you meet me now and my buddy died later from other fast behaviour. I believe the doc put in over 400 stitchs, they use really small stitchs when you get a plastic surgeon. Thank god my brother called for a plastic sugeon or I would have looked like frankensteins monster. I laugh now but that was scary S*%#. Every time i see an old 442 it takes me back. Gavin

I have had good luck with the 125cc motors with setting PVL ignition up at between 2.7-2.8 BTDC. The smaller number (retarded) starts more easily. Make sure you sand off some paint on one engine mount and coil mount and apply some dielectric grease to the area to prevent corrosion. Mine starts every time.

As the saying goes "there's an ass for every seat". Some are just going to have to pay more for thier seat than others.

When is this event taking place. I may be inclined to take a road trip to visit a school buddy in Salt Lake. I could kill two birds with a few tanks of gas. I've always wanted to meet the legendary Jake fisher.
