Bob,-- Nice work. There is GREAT satisfaction in "bringing back" a damaged piece of iron. I have had this pleasure many times in restoring old cars and motorcycles. JOE

Well, I sure got a big chuckle out of your oven receipt--I even had my wife of many years come and read it and she said "ya! that could have been written by you!!":)  She still reminds me of when she came home from shopping (they all do that shoping thing)  and I had my well-used Hi-Point boots in the oven with a heavy fresh coat of "Bear grease" slowly soaking in to that rich smelling swamp-water leather. That might have been 25 years ago and she still likes to tell the story.

Some of you other POG'ers may have simular stories. It would be fun to hear them.  Joe Stearns  [:p][:p]

Great job and thanks. I can now put a few more faces with the names. I haven't seen any pictures of the Penton guys since I saw them in person back in the 70's.

Penton Talk / hello from new member
February 17, 2004, 12:27:36 PM
Welcome Ted, I too am a new member and also have a 250 H/S that I purchased new in 1974. I am in the process of restoration and have already picked up valuable information from the POG forum. I have been going back to the older postings and reviewing them as well. They have contained good info. This is a great group!  Joe Stearns,  Michigan

Penton Talk / paint for frame--1974 250cc
February 09, 2004, 09:45:44 AM
What is the proper paint for me to use on my frame?  The automotive paint store suggested base coat/clear coat. Is there a good durable paint in a spray can that others have used with good results? Thanks for help. Kelleymutt
