Merlin the Magician, if our post's disturb you, why do you keep quoting "Ignorance"..............
There is a pre-pondurance, contrary to "your" opininions, that suggest otherwise......

From very "personable experiences", I can assure you of one thing.

There is more than one owner of a Penton, and if his bike has an ACE pipe............do not tell me it's scrap!

Tom Brosius

So who are you, self appointed "content monitor" as soon as someone disagrees with you?

I have owned plenty of the ACE produced pipes for more than my Penton bikes, the were all a poor fit marginal performing waste of money.

Yes CW, open the throttle when you tickle, let off the button when you see fuel come out the vent, this will make your bike a one or two kick starter cold most every time.

Stick with the stock pipe, sell the ACE pipe to someone you don't like, they are unfortunately a waste of money and sheet metal.

Penton Talk / Larry Perkins

FWIW, Larry and I have butted heads here and shared our opinions on things too. What many here forget is this stage of our lives is a less than simple time, life can come at you from many directions. I'm sure what Larry was implying by the "ball and chain" quote is the fun had been covered over by commitments and his own health, a situation many here and in the sport can relate to. I too have been in a hiatus from the sport for some things much like Larry, working toward a return one day soon but it is not a priority for the time being.

Taxes are what keeps this country running.  I am not for more paperwork, small and large business already have more than enough.  If we could simplify the tax codes we would not need all the IRS agents.  I have no problem with sales tax being collected on internet transactions.  Come on, we pay taxes on everything we buy in a store why should internet sales be banned?  Make it simple though, let Ebay collect and report it, after all they are profiting from the transactions.
When you cheat, you are just saying your not willing to completely support this country financially.  Why over 20K, why not all sales?

Ok guys let fly!
Ted Atkinson

Hog wash, if you had to sit and write that tax check every 1/4 or every year your view would be a bit different. What they (the media and Government) do is convince people that those evil rich people are getting money given to them by extending the Bush era tax rates because they are "not paid for" WTF? It is our money first until we are extorted out of it "for the common good", funny lots of people are in jail for the same activity only it was called racketeering for private folk. Social Secrurity is nothing more than a scheme like Bernie Mahdoff pulled, he's doing 150 years, the federal government is now thinking up more ways to tax (rob) us by way of using force under the tax codes to make us buy healthcare?
One last thing, those evil rich people that are wrecking the county by making money are the ones that hire people, not some guy making 20k a year and living on Government cheese.

Cut income taxes or use flat taxes, freeze and cut Government spending 10% across the board and the budget is balanced by 2018.

Yes Brian your logic is correct, if memory serves use the "2 light instead of 1 heavy shim" method and you will do fine.

Better go back and take a better look, the RM has a Mikuni flat slide not a Lectron.

Try this, gas on- open throttle full- hold tickler down until you see the first drip of fuel- gas off- throttle open about 1/4- piston just at  tdc- kick firmly- engine now running

Penton Talk / Shifting problem identified
March 20, 2010, 10:47:02 AM
Brian, that was done way before you had that bike, takes a bit of work to do it.
The main reason a fork pin would get beat like that is from shifting under a load, not backing off or using the clutch to unload the gears for a shift when the engine is peaked.

Hi Bob, I'll say all of my bikes (Maico)use  points, if I could convert the rest of the stable to points I would.
