Those 77"125-175 pipes were the same except for the silencers, those will fit a 77'gs6 175 fine.Want to make it really quiet just find a weld on old supertrapp and stick it on there!Hot setup back then anyway,,saved about 35+pounds,lol!Merry Christmas everybody!:)later 77's came that way anyway"

April 28, 2007, 07:55:15 PM
Ric,

I bought the tires but haven't decided how I want to sell them yet,as pairs or individually? Will let you all know when available? As im thinking of possibly letting go of a few more items too!I have some new rims too,and metzeler tubes also in my possession too!I also still have the cables and the handlebars and alota other interesting period items in bulk.I bought them all at pile price years ago and keeping what I want for myself and bikes left to restore? When the time comes i'll let you know?:)might have a few new gastanks and seats and sidecovers and pipes too!:)

Penton Talk / Cluch Cover Side Case Tightening
April 28, 2007, 07:37:44 PM
"Never use an impact wrench,,,Torque wrench maybe,,4-5# foot pounds at most!First clean the screws with contact or brake parts cleaner, and the case threads too, then a dab of clear silicon will hold them in tite even at 1#foot pound! A big long wide screw driver helps?Same principle with the KTM motors allenheads too, only use hand held impact wrench on stubborn bolts and screws!:)"Never beat on cases,Use a little heat!:)

Tom,

Did you know that those Protars were replicated after(Testori)or(Kavinovs)G.P. bikes? The ones that I have got have #2 and I think#18 on them i'll have to check?I got mine outa Italy a few years ago, last ones the guy had!!Notice anything unique about the airbox covers on the G.P.bikes and the ones on the Protar models that differd from U.S.models sold thru John?Theres also a Metzeler european Gran Prix banner too,,,which has that same machine airborn in action!;)Some of the west coast Ktms had these trick features!:)
