Clay, you are right Pentons were represented very well at the Steve Mc Queen memorial, I know because I motored My 74' 250 to two holeshots and led both motos until age gave way to youth. Ha Ha those kids are tough to beat sometimes but that is why I am racing in th sportsman class. I want to beat the kids on the proven Penton. Steve Talbott #74

Daryl, FRom the #'s you provided it appears to be a 1973 Harescrambler through and through.The harescrambler that I built and sold last year I painted the engine Satin black with PJ1, the frame i went with sparkle steel,a very cool color.The tank and panels were  a mustard yellow,PPG# 83409 hope this helps.

Hi Mike, To give you an idea of the best performing bike for its time,A friend of mine and I were restoing two 1973 model bikes last year. He a Elsinore myself a Harescrambler. We finished roughly about the same time. After a few minor adjustments on each of our machines,we were ready for our own shootout.The mighty Penton left him out of the hole,in the turns and at top end! The handling was about the same we decided. So I hope this gives you some insight on the heart of these machines.Is it worth it to you to find out? Steve
